Trattoria Ponte Vecchio offers a robust selection of dishes from Owner Daniel Nobili's homeland of Milano, Italy. In addition to the fine Northern Italian selections on the menu, there are excellent daily specials like risotto, ossobuco, rabbit, veal chop, pork chop and fresh fish of the day. Ponte Vecchio in English means "old bridge," and the phrase often refers to a well-known old bridge in Florence. However, Nobili had a different bridge in mind - nearby Torrey Pines Bridge, built in 1933 - when he settled on the name.
Nobili, a former chef, attended culinary school in Italy and has 25 years of fine dining experience that he developed in hotels and restaurants throughout Europe and the United States. He takes pride in the quality of food at Trattoria Ponte Vecchio and has a very personal approach with each customer. The intimate dining room offers a warm, romantic color palette complemented by artwork from local artists.
